Sew Mama Sew Giveaway: Handmade Item + Supplies

**This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.**

Megan and I are tag-teaming it up with this Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day giveaway. Did I mention we’re giving something away? :) What we have for one lucky winner are two plush woodie cars (yes, there’s only one, but another one will be joining) and fun fabric courtesy of Megan.

Cute plush woodie car! Could be a toy, ornament, rear view mirror hanger, whatever you want.

Proof it's 3-D! :)

Look at the cute floral fabric. Just makes me smile looking at it.

The fabric consists of a few scraps (about 10″ wide) of floral print fabric and a yellow and white flower pin.  Lots of fun!

You have until midnight PST May 25 to enter. Each person can earn two chances to win by doing one or both of the following:

  • Link to this on Facebook or Twitter
  • Blog about this giveaway on your blog

Remember to leave a comment for each entry. And each person/IP address gets three entries. If the winner doesn’t get back within three days, we’re going to pick another winner.

Good luck!  And do not forget to check out Sew Mama Sew for the rest of the giveaways today.

Mood Board Giveaway Winner

Happy Presidents Day! I’m wrapping up some time with the family and wanted to pop in and share the winner of my mood board giveaway. Thanks to my mom, who picked a number between one and three, and randomly chose Bobbi! I’ll be in touch to work with you on figuring out how best to maximize a guest room and office.

Back with our regularly scheduled posting tomorrow! Until then I will leave you with a guess as to how I spent my weekend.

Emily’s Giveaway: Custom Mood Board

Now that I’ve mostly posted about mood boards this week (here and here), you may not be surprised that I’m itching to tackle another one. That’s where you, our lovely readers, come in. I’m giving away the chance to help one of you transform a space in your home.

Here’s how it goes: You provide me with photos of a space you would like to infuse with some style, and tell me what floats your boat — when it comes to interiors, that is — and I’ll take it from there. I’ll pull together pieces and create a custom mood board that acts like a shopping list and inspirational guide.

April was the last winner and, while I know you are probably tired of seeing it, this is what I came up with after a few emails back and forth.

Now, I must say that this may take some time to put together, but I believe that it will be worth the wait. Everyone deserves an inspiring space to call home.

Want a mood board of your own? Here’s how you can enter to win! You can earn up to two entries per person/IP address.

  1. Leave a comment saying what space you are hoping to spruce up.
  2. Tell your friends about the giveaway with a link to this post on Twitter and/or Facebook. Don’t forget to make a separate comment on this post for it to count as a second entry.

You have until 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18 to enter. Good luck!

Megan’s Giveaway: Coasters and Pot Holders

As a little thank you to you, our loyal readers, I wanted to share a little something from my shop.  I was trying to figure out what to say about my shop, but I think my mom described it best… here are her words (in an email to her friends) about MegN Creations:

Those of you that know Megan may know that she has always had her hands working on something. When she was little, there was a table in the kitchen overflowing with paper, glue, crayons, pens, pipe cleaners — anything she could use for a craft object. (On the negative side, in elementary school she usually had a backpack full of stuff distracting her greatly from the task at hand…) Now that she’s an adult, she hasn’t really changed but, fortunately, her projects have become a little more universally interesting. Examples: in my house, I have the following that she has made for me/us: various Christmas hand-towels cross-stitched with angels, moose, and penguins; coaster sets in Hawaiian prints, cherry prints, and coffee; a Fourth-of-July table runner made of puffy fabric stars all stitched together; a cozy for our coffee press; a Christmas throw blanket with Disney characters on one side, snowflakes on the other; wine charms; aprons and oven mitts; beanies and scarves — you get the idea! (She also stenciled some cute cherries on our kitchen wall one day when she got tired of hearing me make excuses for not doing it myself.)

So I’m pleased to recommend her Etsy site:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/MegNCreations. It has just a few of her creations on it, with many more to come soon. Please check it out, and check back if you’re of the shopping variety. (Or even if you’re not, like me!)  One thing not on her site, that she might be able to create for you, is custom “Onesies” – she has made a number of unique individual “Onesie” baby undershirts and would likely entertain requests for more. Great shower gifts.

There you have it.  My shop in the words of my Mom (because I cannot toot my own horn, right?)!  Thanks Mom!  And you guys have the chance to win something FABULOUS!  Actually, there will be 2 winners!

First, you have an opportunity to win a set of four Lots of Love coasters.

The other prize is a set of two Chocolate Covered Strawberries Hot Pads / Pot Holders.  They ended up a bit small, so I cannot sell them in the shop, but they are still fantastic.  The image shows just one, but I decided to giveaway a set of two, just because I love you all so much!

So it’s up to you — either the pot holders or the coasters.  Tell me what you prefer!  And here are the rules…

You have until noon on Friday, February 18th to enter.  Leave a comment for each chance to win, up to 4 comments:

  1. Leave a comment letting me know if you want to win the coasters or the potholders.
  2. Check out my shop and tell me what you like (or don’t like).  And if you happen to buy anything, that is an extra 5 entries!
  3. Blog or tweet about the giveaway.

Up to 3 comments (8 entries if you order) from each person / IP address.  I reserve the right to choose another winner if the chosen winner has not responded within three days after being notified.

Winner!

Last week I offered up a copy of Santa Baby and today I get to announce the winner!  Congrats to commenter #4, Krista, who enjoys watching The Polar Express with her daughter and also Miracle on 34th Street.  I am also very excited for Krista as she is currently in labor with their second child, another baby girl.  Can’t wait to meet her!

I also have a funny story about The Polar Express.  I went to see The Polar Express in theaters, on a date. Like a real date with a non-boyfriend.  (I mean, I didn’t have a boyfriend at the time and he never became one.)  We went out to dinner, saw the movie, and just enjoyed each others’ company.  Is it me or does it seem like “dating” does not happen anymore?  It is like we spend a lot of time with someone, and then at one point we say we are together.   For instance, Matt and I just spent a lot of time watching movies at his apartment and hanging out with friends, and then decided to “be official.”  I have found many others doing this as well, so dates are becoming less common.  What do you think?  Do you still go on dates?  Have you made date nights an important part of your marriage?  I know we are trying to!
