Mood Board: Living Room Inspired By Giraffe Print

A couple weeks ago, on a random trip to Bed, Bath and Beyond, we stumbled upon a massive clearance. I saw some giraffe print pillows and fell in love. I may have grabbed them, hugged them and whined that I NEED THESE! I grabbed one, thinking that it was $10. Upon looking more closely at the sign, it was an additional 50 percent off the sale price, meaning they were $5 each! So I grabbed two, naturally. (Looking for something similar? Try this 16 Inch Giraffe Print Throw Pillow.)

Matt was a little nervous about the idea of having animal print things in our home. The colors are pretty darn neutral and the pattern isn’t really severe, I told him. Plus, I love animal print. Always have, always will. Maybe it’s because of the one in Empire Records, one of my favorite movies ever. (Here’s a video clip featuring the couch and a thrilling chase scene. :) My friend Jillian [hey J!] and I would watch it over and over and talk about getting an apartment with a leopard print couch.)

So here’s what I came up with, It’s even a little tame considering I could add even more prints/animal inspirations.

What do you think? Do you like animal print?

  1. I agree! I had to stop watching HGTV until I got engaged because I would get frustrated that I couldn’t put any of the tips to work in my parents’ place.

  2. It looks very cute! I’d tie it together with an animal-print rug, too. Do I like animal print? Yes. Would I do it in my home? Hadn’t thought about that. I think it wouldn’t fit anywhere and we’ve got some decent themes going already. Maybe when we get that middle bedroom back…

  3. I didn’t know you liked animal print! I think the throw pillows are an easy way to tip-toe into it. They’re fairly small and can be changed around easily.
