I was totally inspired by the organization posts last week. You see, my recipes are in total disarray. Some are in binders and some are in recipe boxes. I have also scratched out many a recipe on the scrap piece of paper.
The cookbooks are nicely and neatly stacked. The rest, however, is a disaster. Can you see the mess of papers and notecards on the bottom shelf? I will show you a close up…
Not pretty, huh? What is crazy is that I have this awesome stash of blank recipe cards. My goal is to write the recipes out on the spanking new cards in the next few days. And the little clips, in the below picture — I want to use those to hang up my weekly meal recipes. Not sure exactly how I am going to do that though!
How should I organize the written out recipes? I was thinking of categories like Main Dish, Sides, Soups/Salads, Desserts (which I could break down into cookies, cakes, etc.), and Drinks. Can you think of any other categories? How do you organize your recipes?

Hi Megan,
This was the exact problem I had (3 years ago). I love to cook and collect recipes. I designed and created Recipe Nest and Recipe Sleeves to solve my own problems organizing my recipes. I don’t want to sound sales-y, but it’s a great solution for many people. Maybe it will work for you.
Best regards,
Joan
I have a shelf that looks like this! I’m working on putting
all the recipes into a binder. Once I’ve made the recipe and if I
like it I then write it into a recipe book my husband got
me.
