I do not know about you, but I have this really bad habit of buying cookbooks and then never using them. As you saw a couple weeks ago, I have collected quite a few cookbooks. One of my new goals is to try something new from one of the cookbooks every week. This way I won’t be overwhelmed with new recipes every week, but I will be expanding my culinary horizons. This week I started with a fun book by Rachel Ray. I just love her.
I actually cooked 2 things from her cookbook this week. The first was Spaghetti a la Ceci. It’s a chickpea spaghetti sauce that, as she said in the book, we were apparently enjoying with people all across Rome! I picked it because it was different and it ended up being very tasty. One problem though — I cooked the sauce down a bit too much and so it left the dish a little dry.
The second dish that we made (actually Matt cooked it, as I was running late) was Chicken Caesar burgers. We had a few issues as Matt doesn’t speak cookbook-ease yet, but they were still delicious.
What do you think? Do those meals look edible, or what? How often do you cook from cookbooks?

I am just like you, I have a large collection that I rarely use. Great idea to try at least one new recipe a week! Thanks for the idea!
