The leaves are changing, so you know what that means. It’s time for another Pinterest Challenge! Oh, that wasn’t where you thought I was going?
I’m joining up with some of my favorite bloggers: Katie of Bower Power,Sherry of Young House Love and Ana White, as well as Erin from House of Ernest (who is new to me, but I’m always glad to add another one to the ole’ Google Reader).
The name of the game: take one of your many pins on Pinterest and make it with your own spin on it. I was inspired by an office set-up on Live Creating Yourself. It wasn’t until I was searching through all my pins that I realized I had pinned it twice. Love at first and second pin:

I’ve been working on fixing up our guest bedroom and office. (You may recall my recent redo that has now morphed a bit more.) It’s a room that’s mostly been a catch-all for stuff we don’t want to deal with. The inspiration board will help give the space more life and bring some much needed color and pattern to the beige, beige and more beige. I couldn’t get that second photo out of my mind, so I hopped on over to Ikea and got my Expedit on. It will be perfect for storing my sewing and crochet stuff.
So I followed the tutorial from Live Creating Yourself and came up with this:

Not bad, right? I still need to add some magazine clippings and paint chips, but that will come eventually. I just had to add a light blue chevron pattern (from the Scarlet Poppe who so nicely sent me a rush order of a yard).

I love me a good challenge. Don’t you?

I love your cork board SO MUCH, me and my sister are trying to copy this down to the t! I was wondering what size cork board you used and how much fabric was need?
Glad you liked it! My cork board is about 5 feet by three feet I would guess. I would first find a cork board and then buy your fabric. Don’t remember exactly how much I bought, but it was most likely two yards.
So i got a question what did you use to attache the fabric to the cork board. I’ve got two huge cork boards that im wanting to do something with and this would be a great idea.
Did you use spray adhesive to attach the fabric?
Nevermind, just saw the answer is exactly what I thought
Doing mine today!

How did you do the corners to keep the fabric from bunching up?
Hi Patty, I pretty much folded it a la hospital corners for the top sheet of my bed. Otherwise. You can also trim the corner off to make for less fabric while still covering the edges.
I love this entire look. Where did u get the bookcase?
Hey Emily! I saw this idea on Pinterest and I tried it myself…and I absolutely LOVE it! It was so easy to put together! I even wrote about it on my blog: http://creationsfromthehart.wordpress.com/ Check it out sometime
Thanks for a great idea!!
Would you mind sharing where you got that white 8 shelf unit? That’s a really nice organizing technique you have especially with the magazines alternating
Hi Stella, It’s from Ikea, called the Expedit shelving system. It comes in many colors and formations, and this one was about $90.
